My Year in Hollywood
by Glitter Rose

“Living in Hollywood was an amazing experience. I got to work with some of the best musicians I’ve ever known and also met some incredible people. I learned so much from so many people, not just as an artist, but as a person.

Although the experience was more than I could have hoped for, Hollywood wasn’t home. It’s hard to stay true to yourself when everyone around you is falling into the “sell out” trap. After moving back to Texas, I took those lessons with me and put them into my music. I’m excited to release my newest songs and can’t wait for you to hear them too.”

Hollywood High: "Live in Hollywood"

“Embrace the Sin” managed to attract some big names in Hollywood. Music Connection Magazine’s Brian Stewart passed the EP along to Los Angeles Music Award’s founder Al Bowman. Al fell in love with the EP and asked Hollywood High to be a part of the Los Angeles Music Awards 2004. He awarded them Outstanding New Artist and HH was scheduled to play at the show, held at the Henry Fonda Theatre in Hollywood.

With this opportunity, Glitter moved to Hollywood and started to promote the show in early 2004. Hollywood High played all over the Sunset Strip and gained new fans throughout the year. Music Connection Magazine reviewed the band at the Whisky a GoGo in Oct. 2004. The review was stellar. From there, HH was voted one of the Top 100 Unsigned Artists of 2004 by the magazine.

On Nov. 18, 2004, Hollywood High stole the show at the Los Angeles Music Awards, playing 3rd on the bill. After the award show, HH was approached by many record labels and industry professionals.

But something wasn’t right for Glitter. The rock n roll that she loved and performed was more than the industry could handle. They were looking for something more along the lines of pop than rock. Glitter decided to turn the offers down.

From there, she decided to move back to her home in Texas and regroup as a musician. She started to fall back to her roots of country and southern rock and is now working on a solo project, due to hit the scene in Summer 2006.
